Harris falls short with female voters, stunning Democrats
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: The Hill
Vice President Harris’s strategy of riding on a surge of female support ultimately fell flat, with hints that Election Day could see a historic gender gap failing to materialize. White women sided with President-elect Trump for the third straight cycle, and he also made inroads with Latina voters and young women. Trump improved on his 2020 margins with Latina women by 8 points, according to Edison Research. And among young women, Trump improved by 11 points compared to last cycle, according to NBC News exit polling. While Harris won women, Trump’s gains with the voting bloc have Democrats reeling as they work to understand what went wrong on election night.

Anti-Abortionists After Trump Win: 'Now the Work Begins'
Topic: Abortion
Source: The Associated Press
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America to push for more abortion restrictions under new administration. Anti-abortion advocates say there's still work to be done to further restrict access to abortion when Republican Donald Trump returns to the White House next year. They point to the federal guidance that the administration of Democratic President Biden released around emergency abortions, requiring that hospitals provide them for women whose health or life is at risk, and its easing of prescribing restrictions for abortion pills that have allowed women to order the medication online with the click of a button. "Now the work begins to dismantle the pro-abortion policies of the Biden-Harris administration," Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, the powerful anti-abortion lobby, said in a statement Wednesday, per the AP. "President Trump's first-term pro-life accomplishments are the baseline for his second term." The group declined to release details about what, specifically, they'll seek to undo.

Famed Abolitionist Is Now Gen. Harriet Tubman
Topic: Individualist Feminism
Source: The Associated Press
She was posthumously awarded rank in Veterans Day ceremony. Revered abolitionist Harriet Tubman, who was the first woman to oversee an American military action during a time of war, was posthumously awarded the rank of general on Monday. Dozens gathered on Veterans Day at the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park in Maryland's Dorcester County for a formal ceremony making Tubman a one-star brigadier general in the state's National Guard, the AP reports. Gov. Wes Moore called the occasion not just a great day for Tubman's home state but for all of the US. "Today, we celebrate a soldier and a person who earned the title of veteran," Moore said. "Today we celebrate one of the greatest authors of the American story."

“Never traipse around with a floozy who weaponizes the penis fly trap,” my Midwestern Irish-Catholic grandmammy once advised me during our unorthodox birds and the bees conversation. “McKenna, who is 24 and lives in a rural, conservative state, recently got back on dating apps after a year of finding herself. She had two first dates planned for this weekend, but after Donald Trump won the election, she cancelled both. It’s heartbreaking to know that in this country you only matter if you’re a straight white man,” she said. “It’s just devastating that we’re at this point. So I will not let another man touch me until I have my rights back.”

Supporting Right Of Public School Teachers To Criticize CRT. EPP files amicus curiae brief in support of teacher fired for speech criticizing CRT and other leftist agenda items that occurred before she was employed. Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a federal civil rights lawsuit on behalf of Kari MacRae, a Massachusetts high school teacher who was fired in retaliation for posts on social media objecting to the inclusion of critical race theory in schools (MacRae vs. Matthew Mattos and Matthew A. Ferron (No. 1:21-cv-11917)).

Swiss 'burqa ban' to take effect from Jan. 1
Topic: Violence Against Women
Source: Jerusalem Post
The ban does not apply to planes or in diplomatic and consular premises, and faces may also be covered in places of worship and other sacred sites, the government said. Narrowly passed in a 2021 referendum in neutral Switzerland, and condemned by Muslim associations, the measure was launched by the same group that organised a 2009 ban on new minarets. The governing Federal Council said in a statement it had fixed the start of the ban, and that anyone who unlawfully flouts it faces a fine of up to 1,000 Swiss francs ($1,144).

... ahead of ‘reproductive apocalypse’ under Trump. Healthcare providers report unprecedented demand for reproductive and gender-affirming medications: ‘We’ve never seen this before’. The telehealth service Wisp saw a 300% increase in requests for emergency contraception; the abortion pill finder site Plan C saw a 625% increase in traffic. “Clearly, people are trying to plan for the reproductive apocalypse that we anticipate will be happening under a Trump presidency,” said Elisa Wells, the co-founder of Plan C. [Ed: no more of an apocalypse than there was in his first term...which was none.]

Retailers Brace for DEI Blowback...
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: CNBC
in lead-up to holiday shopping season. Some companies are concerned about attending public DEI events while others are strategizing on how to avoid criticism over their policies and programs. “There’s a clear sentiment in the retail community that nobody wants to get Tractor Supply’d,” one retail industry insider told CNBC. Across industries, some companies have also cut positions for DEI roles. Between 2019 and 2022, new jobs for chief diversity and inclusion officers spiked nearly 170%, according to a LinkedIn study, but over the last year, new jobs for such roles have fallen while companies like Google and Meta have cut staffers and downsized programs that fell under DEI.

Arizonans Approve Life in Prison for Sex Trafficking a Minor
Topic: Porn, Prostitution, and Sexual Freedom
Source: Reason
This isn't a policy that corrects for injustice but one that increases it. Arizona Proposition 313 has passed. This is bad news, no matter how much the ballot measure's backers portrayed it as a simple measure to indicate that "children are not for sale." Obviously, selling children is already banned, federally and in Arizona. And the specific crime that Prop 313 is concerned with—sex trafficking of minors—is already illegal at the state and federal level, with heavy prison sentences for those who disobey. Proposition 313, which institutes a mandatory life sentence for this crime, passed with more than 60 percent of the vote, per the Associated Press. But this measure will mean more injustice in Arizona, not less. It could even mean more injustice for victims of sex trafficking.

Australia's Social Media Move Is for the 'Worried Sick' Parents
Topic: Children and Family
Source: CNN
Proposed law meant to counter online harms includes no exemption for parental consent. Australia is proposing "world-leading" legislation to ban children under 16 from social media. "This one is for the mums and dads," who, "like me, are worried sick about the safety of our kids online," Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said at a Thursday press conference, referencing mental health problems and misogynistic content online, per the BBC and Reuters. Last year, France proposed banning children under 15 from social media but with an exemption for kids with parental consent, per CNN. Reuters reports the legislation to be introduced in Australian parliament next week includes "no exemption for parental consent and no exemption for pre-existing accounts." However, the BBC reports the ban "would not apply to young people already on social media." [Ed: gov. usurps parental control. Some parents want to hand it over.]

Scientific American Editor Apologizes For Rant Against Trump Supporters
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: The Daily Caller
A priestess in the cult of The Science™ apologized Friday for an expletive-laced rant against Americans who voted for Donald Trump. One would think that the editor-in-chief of Scientific American, the supposedly prestigious science publication founded in 1845, would act sober and measured on social media, a way befitting someone who claims to be an arbiter of reason and objectivity — you know, The Science™. No, I guess not. It turns out that Laura Helmuth, the editor-in-chief in question, is as much a partisan as your average MSNBC viewer.

Germany’s gender self-ID law is dangerous and regressive
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: Spiked Online
Woke authoritarianism is the last refuge of ineffectual technocrats. Just days before Germany’s deeply unpopular and chaotic government coalition collapsed, a new gender ‘self-identification’ law came into force. On 1 November, it became legal for people aged 14 and over to change their gender simply by making a declaration to a registry office, which they can do once per year. While minors will need the consent of their parents or legal guardians to alter their legal gender, they can seek recourse in the family courts should their parents or legal guardians refuse.

The dark underbelly of trans ideology
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: Spiked Online
Genevieve Gluck on how predatory men are exploiting Western society’s gender derangement.. Women are constantly being told that they have nothing to fear from men invading their spaces. Whether it’s sports, prisons or rape-crisis centres, women are expected to greet biologically male ‘transwomen’ without fuss and with open arms. When predatory men inevitably take advantage of ‘trans inclusive’ policies, the grim and tragic consequences are often swept under the rug by the media and the political class. News articles about sexual-assault cases are replete with references to ‘her penis’. We read about ‘women’ committing grotesque crimes, beneath pictures of men sporting beards and ill-fitting wigs. Genevieve Gluck, co-founder of Reduxx, is working tirelessly to challenge this.

Public schools continue to be ground zero for culture wars... An essential mission for many educators throughout the country is the indoctrination of their students. The newest arrival on the propaganda front is Israel. In August, one of the topics of a United Teachers of Los Angeles meeting was “How to be a teacher & an organizer. . . and NOT get fired.” History teacher Ron Gochez elaborated on stealth methods for indoctrinating his students. He talked about transporting busloads of kids to an anti-Israel rally—during the school day—without arousing suspicion.

Woke Bloodbath: Leftist Movements Are Paying The Price For Arrogance
Topic: Individualist Feminism
Source: Alt-Market
The Democrats embraced woke cultism, they embraced globalist authoritarianism and now they’ve paid the price... If you thought Kamala Harris was a sure win in 2024, then you haven’t been paying attention to the epic shift in the cultural zeitgeist over the past few years. The thing that bothers me most about political and social analysis is dealing with people who foolishly assume nothing ever changes. Things change all the time. People can and do learn from the past. Nothing is hopeless, and nihilists are lazy and incompetent.

MSNBC Panelist: The Left Is Out of Touch With Transgender Issues
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: Townhall
In the aftermath of the 2024 election, an MSNBC panelist stated that Democrats lost the election, in part, because of the party’s obsession with transgender issues surrounding children and sports. In a segment, Joe Scarborough ranted about how Democrats are out of touch with everyday Americans on cultural issues. This includes college students feeling unable to speak up about politics in their classes for fear of being “canceled.” [Ed: and he just realized this NOW?]

Grift Is Ending: ESG Fund Managers Told To "Keep Their Lawyers Very Close"
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: Zero Hedge
“We’d encourage all ESG fund managers to have a lawyer on the team, or on speed-dial." We've known the ESG grift has been coming to a screeching halt for years now, with major investment banks and companies dropping their initiatives while the GOP goes on a rampage to try root out the faux-virtue signaling. But now with President Trump once again taking the White House, one investment bank is advising ESG fund managers to "keep their lawyers very close", as the full scale death of ESG may very well be on the door step, according to Yahoo Finance. Aniket Shah wrote in a note this week: “We’d encourage all ESG fund managers to have a lawyer on the team, or on speed-dial.” He continued: “Antitrust risk remains high for asset managers in ESG; there haven’t been any cases yet, thus there is no legal precedent. Further, legal risks regarding fiduciary duty will stay relevant as states enforce anti-ESG laws.”

Why Are Fair-Admissions Activists Threatening New Lawsuits?
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: James G. Martin Center
Left-leaning admissions officers are defying the clear orders of the Supreme Court. Mere law has never impeded the Left's pursuit of its political objectives. The same pattern holds in our universities. Indeed, achieving political objectives now appears to be the primary aim of many American colleges, and willful defiance of the law has been de rigueur in admissions offices for 60 years. The Civil Rights Act of 1964, Proposition 209 in California, Proposal 2 in Michigan, and countless other explicit prohibitions on racial discrimination have done nothing to inhibit the Left's racist utopian scheming. Thus, it's no surprise that admissions offices nationwide are ignoring the Supreme Court's 2023 ruling in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, which, once again, outlawed race-based discrimination in admissions.

Revenge of the Silent Male Voter.
Topic: Men's Movement
Source: The Quillette
What I learned about Trump’s landslide victory from one night in New York City. In the coming days, much will be written about working class concerns—issues that have become familiar focal points for those seeking to understand Trump’s support. But while inflation and border policies will have no doubt played a role in the Republicans’ landslide victory, we might also want to look at the sentiments expressed by young male voters—voters who represent a new and emerging contingent in American politics. Nothing about the young men I spoke to appeared particularly conservative or “right-wing.” Yet it was easy for them to explain why they voted for Trump. And if we zoom out and look at broader cultural trends, it should be easy for us to understand too. If we take a macro perspective, we see that such young men have never known a culture in which males are not routinely described as “problematic,” “toxic,” or “oppressive.” Going to university, and working at modern companies, they live in a world of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policies—many of which promote an insidious and pervasive form of anti-male discrimination. Yet to talk about it in public invites social ostracism. To criticise DEI is to risk being called a Nazi.
